Lebensraum: Moore, Bruchwälder, Grabenränder, Talwiesen, feuchte Schläge, Schonungen und Waldwiesen, an Bächen und Teichen
ähnlich: andere Gluckenarten
Ei: in kleineren Gruppen auf Grashalme
Raupe: bis 75 mm an harten Gräsern: Knäuelgras (Dactylis glomerata), Quecke (Agropyron repens), Bromus- und Carex-Arten, Schilfrohr (Clamagrostis), Phragmites; die Raupen wurden beim Trinken von Tautropfen beobachtet (deutscher Name)
Puppe: in Kokon an der Futterpflanze
überwintert als: Raupe frei auf der Futterpflanze
